The 2010 Missioners Conference will be held in Merville from Tuesday June 29 - Friday July 2. Click here to book your place. Booking deadline Friday 26th March. More details to follow soon.
Posts below include:
(NEW) Recordings of Jules Gomes's Bible reflections on Exile
Mike Chew's PPT on Mission Action Planning
Graham Cray's PowerPoint on the future of Fresh Expressions.
Emma Ineson's concluding reflections.
And of course the link to Emma's YouTube file of "Dancing Matt Harding".
Plus two YouTube posts of the Conference's final dancing prayer...
(If you didn't attend the conference, you need to read Emma's reflection and watch Matt's video before you're ready to see the Conference dancing...)
Still to come: handouts of Jules Gomes's Bible reflections on Exile. Jules has had to travel to Mumbai to be with his mother who is unwell. Please pray for him. We will post these as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.
Feel free to download these recordings of Jules's talks.
Please note these recordings were originally intended for use only as personal notes. The quality of recording and levels of background noise vary throughout the recordings. However we hope they may be useful to you.
So
do continue asking ‘What on earth are
we meant to be doing?” - whilst also knowing deep down why you are meant to be doing it. You are doing it because you want
to invite the prodigals home, to invite others to the party.
"Mission means
inviting all the people of the earth to hear the music of God's future and
dance to it today" (Christopher J. H. Wright ‘The Mission of God’).
So
keep doing your funny little dance, sometimes people will join in with you and
sometimes they won’t. Sometimes you will change the way you dance, but keep
dancing, and God will be with you.
And Emma left us with the image of Matt Harding and his "funny little dance" - odd perhaps, offbeat, but infectious, building community, pointing beyond ourselves. And Bonnie Appleton led the whole conference in our own version of that dance.
So here you go - three YouTube clips. Firstly Matt Harding. Then two views of us. Enjoy...
