This summary came today – please pass on to all your networks.
Could you pray for lots of people to attend the training days? The training from MTG is at the request of the churches. Please encourage all churches and groups of churches to send teams so all the interest groups are covered – torch / festivals / social justice / games pastors etc. Can you pray and give the training tour a major push in your networks?
MTG Update:
This eNews brings you important news for action by your church. Please make sure it gets out.
In particular -
- The 'Get Set' training days are a rich source of ideas and practical help. So do bring a car load at least.
- A whole lot of new free resources are on line - ranging from youth, to prayer, to an all age talk.
By the way, we need to stress that none of the More Than Gold programmes have an official relationship with LOCOG, the organising committee of the Games. Our Athlete Family Homestay programme has their Inspire mark - but this is the extent of any official endorsement. Please help us make sure no one is mislead.
Thanks

Could a Youth Café work for you?
YOUTH CAFÉS ARE A NEW and effective way to build relationships with young people from beyond the church. And there's now a free resource to help you run one with a sporty theme during the Games.
A Youth Café involves a setting where -
- Young people of secondary school age leave the streets to find a relaxed place to have fun and experience community
- On hand are a mix of snacks, drinks, computer games, board games, pool, craft activities, musical instruments, snooker and table tennis
The Youth Café approach was pioneered by Aylesbury Vale Youth for Christ and is becoming widely adopted by churches and others. For all you need to know go here.
