Develop your supervision skills: Support individual learners more creatively and effectively.
Wednesday 22nd February 10.00 – 16.00 at St John’s College, Nottingham
This is the second day in our short course and is a stand-alone day as well as part of a ‘whole’. It will be relevant to those supporting learning in a range of contexts but will also have specific relevance to those in pioneer settings. As the established church recedes quietly from areas of the UK (particularly the inner urban and rural communities), many more Christians will need to live as missionaries in their own country and rethink the meaning of church. Such a life is hard and fruit normally comes only after many years of hard work. That work is often undertaken by younger pioneers, who choose to live outside the traditional support structures of the church. As well as broader understandings of supervision and support, the day will reflect on the understandings, skills and techniques that mentors, supervisors and spiritual directors might need to ensure the long-term sustainability of both pioneer mission and pioneer missionaries.
